Environmental Interaction Evaluation Report and Auditing

Accordingly with the regulations of Ministry of Environment, our tannery is controlled periodically for its environmental compliance. Our environmental appropriateness is approved according to the Environmental Interaction Evaluation Report.

Water Treatment

We treat water in our tannery employing a multi-functional and multi-layered water processing unit composed of multimedia filtration and RO.

Environmental Consulting

We continuously work with a private environmental consulting firm. All stages of our operation and our waste policy are edited by an accredited environment engineer every month.

Waste Usage by Neighbour Industries

The waste coming out from several phases (such as trimming, fleshing, splitting, shaving) of our production is used as the raw material by various neighbour industries (such as brush manufacturing, gelatine production, split leather production, welt production).

Water and Energy Reduction

We invests in more expensive machinery for the sake of consuming less energy. Our energy cauldrons are equipped with energy control systems. The water pumps, the chiller and the lighting system of our factory are all designed for energy saving.

Use of Certified Substances

The substances we use in leather processing are in accordance with the EU standards.

Automated System and Control

In our tannery the processes of production are partially automated and controlled by a special tanning control program.

Exhaust Air Cleaning

The exhaust air coming out of the finishing process passes through a water-based cleaning tower intended to prevent air pollution.

Waste Water Management

We are a member of the Waste Water Treatment Center of Tuzla Leather Industrial Zone where the waste water of our factory is sent and processed.

Lowering Solvent Emission

At Sarp Deri, we use water-based finishing materials and solvent-free varnish with the aim of lowering solvent emission.
